Polo Strategico Nazionale allows the Public Administration to choose between 3 cloud migration services. The solutions have different functions and lead times, but share one thing in common: 4 national Data Centres.
Re-Host
Re-Host is migration without changes to applications or software. Administrations using this service can immediately benefit from the reliability provided by the cloud because applications are not rewritten or regenerated, but only moved to the cloud environment.
Re-Platform
Re-Platform is migration that adapts application components to cloud infrastructure. The changes that are made are indispensable both to enable applications in cloud environments and to make them perform even better.
Re-Platform migration also saves the Public Administration time because this service does not involve rewriting applications.
Re-Architect
Re-Architect is migration that transforms Public Administration applications according to the cloud-native paradigm. This migration substantially changes applications and makes them fully integrated into the cloud infrastructure. Re-Architect requires more time and effort, but ensures high standards of digitisation, innovation and efficiency in service delivery.
The stages of the migration process
All migrations are performed using the EMG2C methodology, which involves 3 stages: Explore, Make, and Go To Cloud.
In the first stage – termed Explore – Polo Strategico Nazionale analyses the administrations’ applications and software to assess which cloud migration meets the specific needs of the PA.
In the second stage – termed Make – a set-up is put in place that organises the cloud environment to transfer all data securely.
In the third stage – termed Go To Cloud – services are activated on the new cloud infrastructure. Even in this final stage, administrations can count on support from Polo Strategico Nazionale, which also monitors the functioning of the entire environment after activation to ensure speed, efficiency and security for all provided services.
